Authoring team

Normally the drugs are given intravenously.

Normally single chemotherapy is effective with combinations of 2 to 4 drugs being given in pulses. The pulsatile nature of the administration is more effective against tumours, causing less immunosuppression and myelosuppression

Combinations of drugs are selected based on:

  • known single agent activity
  • dissimilar toxic effects
  • potentiation
