This describes the accumulation of flaky or fluffy white material (proteoglycans) in a ring on the anterior lens capsule, iris, and trabecular meshwork. Glaucoma results in 50% of cases. The pseudoexfoliation and glaucoma are usually bilateral but asymmetric.
