there is no need for test cure if the patient has been compliant and there has been no risk of re-infection
note that some patients, especially those who have asymptomatic infection, may prefer reassurance of a test cure
if nucleic acid amplification tests (PCR/LCR) are used, then this should be undertaken a minimum of three weeks after initiation therapy, to avoid false-positive results
