Hemiplegia

Hemiplegia is paralysis of one side of the body. This is in contrast with hemiparesis where there is slight or incomplete paralysis of one side of the body.

Hemiplegia is due to a lesion which affects neuronal projections of pathways from the contralateral cortex.
