Ovulation may be confirmed by a number of tests:

Mid-luteal cycle progesterone - see menu item.

Basal body temperature - see menu item.

Examination of mid-cycle cervical mucus - see menu item.

Endometrial biopsy - histological examination of a premenstrual endometrial biopsy will show secretory changes if ovulation has occurred. This procedure is usually combined with laparoscopic examination.
