Transglottic laryngeal carcinoma involves all three regions of the larynx at presentation.

Most patients present with respiratory obstruction or metastatic neck nodes.

Radiotherapy is the preferred treatment in the absence of nodal disease.

A total laryngectomy and radical neck dissection is performed for nodal disease, or residual or recurrence after radiotherapy.
