Papillomatosis(breast)

Authoring team

This condition is identified histologically by an increase in the number of cells lining the terminal duct lobular unit. Hyperplasia may be graded as mild, moderate or florid and there may be atypia.

The presence of atypia is associated with a significantly increased risk of subsequent breast carcinoma.
