Aspergillomas are usually asymptomatic. They enlarge slowly and may cause a cough or haemoptysis which may be torrential.
There is a characteristic radiological appearance.
Diagnosis is based on identification of the organism in sputum, and Aspergillus precipitins in high titre.
An aspergilloma should not be confused with allergic aspergillosis.
