Patients with paranoid states are often suspicious, and do not comply with treatment. Because of the presence of delusions, anti-psychotic medication is indicated, but paranoid delusions often remain singularly resistant to this. Psychological support and encouragement is often helpful, but more intensive psychotherapy is difficult and usually not complied with.
