The intestinal loops return to the abdomen by the twelfth week of pregnancy.

Abnormalities include:

  • oesophageal atresia
  • Caroli's disease
  • biliary atresia
  • gut malrotation
  • omphalocoele
  • imperforate anus
  • cleft lip and palate
  • Hirschsprung's disease
  • pyloric stenosis
  • duodenal atresia
