Glucose-6-phosphatase is the liver enzyme that converts glucose-6-phosphate into glucose. It is vital for release of glucose into the bloodstream from glycogen breakdown - glycogenolysis.
A deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate produces von Gierke's disease.
