The treatment of claw toe is dependent upon the mobility of the deformity.

If the deformity is mobile, then the toe(s) can be straightened by transfer of the long toe flexors to the extensors insertions.

A fixed deformity may be treated conservatively with the use of special footwear. Surgical treatment of a fixed deformity involves an arthrodesis of the interphalangeal joints and tendon transfers.
