Hepatosplenomegaly is enlargement of both the spleen and liver. Causes include:

  • infection:
    • acute viral hepatitis
    • infectious mononucleosis

    • lymphoma
    • pernicious anaemia
    • sickle cell anaemia
    • thalassaemia

  • systemic lupus erythematosus
