Hypocomplementaemic urticarial vasculitis syndrome

This is a form of 'primary' vasculitis associated with hypocomplementaemia.

There is a close association between HUVS and SLE. If urticarial vasculitis occurs in SLE then there is a similar pattern of abnormal complement components, ie very low C1q, low C4 and C2, as well as normal or slightly reduced levels of C3.
