The clinical features of angiofibromas include:

  • nasal obstruction
  • purulent nasal discharge
  • frequent epistaxis, often unilateral
  • conductive hearing loss due to compromise of Eustachian tube function

Extension of the tumour causes:

  • cranial nerve palsies as the skull base is infiltrated
  • facial discomfort and swelling as the anterior nasal cavity, ethmoid sinuses and maxillary sinuses are infiltrated
