There is a wide spectrum of disease but in general the severity is less than MPS I:

  • coarse facial features
  • short stature
  • hepatosplenomegally
  • joint stiffness
  • herniae
  • mental retardation
  • deafness
  • kyphosis

Hunter and Hurler syndromes may be differentiated:

  • nodes over the scapula are seen in Hunter but not Hurler
  • corneal clouding is seen in Hurler but not Hunter
