Investigations in suspected radial dysplasia should include a standard radiographic series of hand, wrist, forearm, elbow and humerus. The severity of clinical features is closely matched by the radiographic findings.

In the presence of a syndrome that is associated with radial dysplasia, other investigations may be dictated by anomalies in other systems eg renal ultrasound or radiography of the vertebrae.
