Overall incidence of hypercalcaemia is estimate to be around 0.6% (1)
The estimated incidence of hypercalcaemia caused by
- primary hyperparathyroidism - 250 cases per million
- malignancy - 150 cases per million population (1)
Hypercalcaemia was observed in 10-60% of patients on long term Lithium therapy (2)
