The use of the various available medications for type 2 diabetes in patients with changing renal function can be problematic for the diabetes clinician. Some medications require dose alteration as the eGFR of a patient changes - however when this occurs can vary between medications in the same class as well as with respect to medications from different classes.

GPnotebook Education Director and GP with a Specialist Interest in Diabetes, Dr Kevin Fernando, has produced this "easy to use" tabulated guide to provide a tool to use glucose lowering medication in type 2 diabetics with kidney disease.
