Class Ia comprises sodium channel blockers that increase the action potential duration.
Examples of class Ia antiarrhthmic drugs include:
- quinidine
- procainamide
- disopyramide
Class Ia drugs are used in ventricular tachycardia and in tachycardia associated with the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
