Multiple papillomata (laryngeal)
Multiple laryngeal papillomata initially cause a hoarse voice and then may progress to airway obstruction and stridor unless they are treated.
The condition is treated by removing the papillomata; either endoscopically by diathermy, or cryosurgery. They can also be removed by using a CO2 laser.
The papillomata recur until puberty.
