Aetiology
Causes include:
- asthma
- asbestosis, silicosis and other fibrosing lung diseases
- cystic fibrosis
- bronchitis, emphysema and the spectrum of disease between the two
- bronchiolitis
- conditions causing pulmonary oedema, for example congestive cardiac failure
- foreign body - localised wheeze
- congential lobar emphysema
