Partial nodular transformation

Authoring team

Partial nodular transformation is a very rare cause of portal hypertension. The aetiology is unknown but the hypertension is thought to arise from the development of non-cirrhotic nodules in the hilar region. The condition is not progressive so the prognosis is good.
