Trials with respect to lipid lowering

There have been very many studies looking at the effects of lowering serum cholesterol, of which here trials such as the MRFIT, POSCH, Scandinavian Simvastatin Survival study, CARE trial, VA-HIT, WOSCOPS and MRC/BHF Heart Protection study are briefly reviewed. These show that reduction of cholesterol is worthwhile in primary and secondary prevention of coronary heart disease (CHD).
