Melanocanthoma

Authoring team

Melanocanthoma is a type of seborrhoeic keratosis distinguished histologically by a large number of dendritic melanocytes. The melanocytes are filled with a large amount of melanin. There seems to be little transfer of pigment to the surrounding keratinocytes.

Clinically, it appears as a suspiciously dark patch of seborrhoeic keratosis. There is no malignant potential.
