Coeliac disease should be considered in patients with a primary diagnosis of:
- abdominal lymphoma
- benign upper GI strictures
- small bowel adenocarcinoma
- dermatitis herpetiformis
- IgA deficiency
- hyposplenic blood film in the absence of splenectomy
