Complications
Complications due to reduction in normal immunoglobulins:
- recurrent infections
Complications due to the paraprotein:
- renal failure
- Fanconi's syndrome
- amyloidosis
- bleeding disorders due to coating of normal platelets with paraprotein
Complications of skeletal damage:
- pathological fractures especially of the spine and sternum
- hypercalcaemia of malignancy
