The following drugs increase the rate of metabolism of corticosteroids, and hence reduce their efficacy:

  • carbamazepine
  • phenytoin
  • phenobarbitone
  • rifampicin

Corticosteroids may reduce the efficacy of:

  • hypoglycaemics
  • antihypertensives

They may increase the efficacy of:

  • warfarin
  • cardiac glycosides
