Acute ischaemic disease (surgery)
Acute ischaemia describes ischaemia which is of rapid onset, and as such both stroke and myocardial infarction might be considered to belong here. This section will however deal with acute ischaemia of the following areas which are more immediately amenable to surgical treatment:
- the lower limb
- the gut
- the renal artery
