Clinical features
A meningitic presentation is characterised by:
- headache
- neck stiffness
- non-febrile
The multifocal encephalitic presentation is characterised by:
- multiple focal neurological deficits in the cerebrum and cerebellum
- the deficits usually have a subacute onset althoug a stroke-like presentation is recognised
- confusion
- memory loss
- dementia
