Clinical features
Possible clinical features include:
- dilated subcutaneous veins over the upper limbs, neck and chest
- if there is collateral inferior vena cava circulation then there may be dilatation of the subcutaneous veins of the abdomen
- tissue oedema
- SVCO may be of rapid, often thrombotic, onset or gradual onset
- there may be development of stridor due to progressive obstruction to the main bronchi or trachea
