Serum ACE determination
Angiotensin converting enzyme levels may be raised in the following situations:
- normal variant
- active sarcoidosis
Other conditions where serum ACE levels may be raised include:
- Gaucher's disease
- diabetes mellitus
- hyperthyroidism
- leprosy
- chronic renal disease
- cirrhosis
- silicosis
- berylliosis
- amyloidosis
- tuberculosis
Normal levels are found in lung cancer and lymphoma.
