The apical bronchopulmonary segment of the superior lobe of the right lung forms the dome of the right lung. It is supplied uniquely by the apical segmental bronchus branch of the superior lobe bronchus of the right lung.
It has four surfaces which are not enclosed by other segments: anterior, superior, medial and lateral.
Relations include:
The medial border is the hilum at the level of the third interspace. The lateral border is the lower margin of the first or second rib.
