Causes of micropenis include:

  • idiopathic
  • hypothalamic causes, including Kallman syndrome or Prader-Willi syndrome
  • hypopituitary causes, including growth hormone or gonadotrophin deficiency
  • gonadal causes, including Down's syndrome, Noonan's syndrome
  • end organ causes such as androgen insensitivity

Note that there can be apparent micropenis in obesity.
