Aplastic anaemia is a rare condition characterised by anaemia, thrombocytopenia and neutropenia with a hypocellular or acellular bone marrow.
It is usually acquired though congenital forms do exist, e.g. Fanconi's anaemia. The underlying cause is identified in less than 30% of cases despite extensive investigation.
