- Difterie
- Maligniteit
- Kritieke ziekte polyneuropathie
- Diabetes, uremie (zelden)
- Voornamelijk motorisch:
- Guillain-Barre syndroom

- Ziekte van Charcot-Marie-Tooth
- Diabetes (diabetische amyotrofie)
- Voornamelijk sensorisch:

- Erfelijke sensorische en autonome neuropathie
- Primaire familiaire amyloïdose
- Uremie
- Ziekte van Lyme

- Radiculaire:
- Diabetische truncale neuropathie
- Ziekte van Lyme
- Syndroom van Sjogren
- Pijnlijke neuropathieën:
- Alcohol, voedingstekorten
- Diabetes (acute pijnlijke neuropathie)
- Erfelijke sensorische en autonome neuropathie (HSAN type 1)
- Arsenicum
- Cryoglobulinemie
- Ziekte van Lyme
- Paraneoplastische sensorische neuropathie
- Vasculitische neuropathieën
