Squamous cell carcinoma of the pinna

Authoring team

Like other squamous cell carcinomas, that of the pinna is predisposed by excess sunlight exposure.

It is characterised by an ulcerated appearance with raised everted edges. The prognosis is good if the disease is localised but it may metastasize to the neck.

Early ENT assessment and treatment may improve outcome.
