Axillary nodal status and prognosis
Three factors concerning lymphatic spread of breast carcinoma have an influence on prognosis:
- number of involved nodes
- level of disease
- extent of tumour within nodes
The number of involved nodes has a greater prognostic significance than either the level of disease or the extent of tumour within individual nodes.
