Clinical features
Angelman syndrome consists of:
- severe mental retardation without speech
- microcephaly
- flat occiput - brachycephaly
- jerky ataxic movements with broad based gait
- smiling face
- gales of inappropriate laughter
Other features include a protruded tongue, and often epilepsy.
