General clinical features of infectious disease
Common symptoms and signs of infection include:
- fever, sweating and rash; night sweats; rigors
- anorexia, weight loss
- lethargy and malaise
- lymphadenopathy
- dizziness, postural hypotension and sinus tachycardia
- sometimes tachypnoea
- viral headache and occasionally meningitis
- arthralgia or myalgia
Less common general symptoms and signs include:
- acute delirium
- febrile convulsions
- septicaemic shock
- hepatosplenomegaly
