Treatment
There is no specific treatment available.
Prevention is the most important measure:
- monitoring and reduction of dust levels
- adequate ventilation
- respirators should be worn
- regular chest X-rays
Early detection and removal from exposure is important. If tuberculosis develops, treat promptly and adequately:
- discourage cigarette smoking
- promptly treat chest infections with antibiotics
