Parathyroid hormone related peptide

This is a peptide with similar target organ effects as parathyroid hormone which is secreted by some tumours - particularly, renal adenocarcinoma, bronchial squamous cell tumours, and some ovarian tumours.

It may cause hypercalcaemia.

It is not detected by PTH radioimmunoassays.
