Web space (palmar)
There are three palmar web spaces in each hand. They lie between the attachments of the palmar aponeurosis, from metacarpophalangeal level to the web skin margin distally.
Relations:
- dorsally: skin superficial to deep transverse metacarpal ligament
- volarly: skin superficial to superficial transverse metacarpal ligament
- radially and ulnarly: digital nerves on palmar side of digital vessels, tendons of interossei and lumbricals
The web space is filled with fibrofatty material.
