Congenital atresia of the duodenum

Duodenal atresia may be due to a complete absence of the duodenum, a fibrous band, a diaphragm, or a partial diaphragm. It most commonly occurs at the point of junction of fore- and midgut. This condition results in bile-stained vomiting.
